about
"A few years ago, I was spending some quality time with a close friend. We were both a little hungover and it was the type of day which felt deeply meaningful although we didn’t have any conversations of significant importance. At one point I semi dozed off while my friend was DJ’ing a parade of good tunes on the stereo. As I lay there amid lucid dreams a tune came on that caught my senses. As I realized that I had to know the origins of this important piece of music I exited my lucid dreaming to find out it was I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis. I remember getting up one morning, a few days after I was confronted with this song, putting it on my stereo and crying a tear. At the time I hadn’t felt that way about a piece of music in a very long time.
On the day I finished recording Why Don’t You Dance I figured it would be fun to do something with the recording crew that didn’t necessarily directly relate to the process of recording a full-length album, so we collectively spend the night drinking screwdrivers, recording a cover of I Love You Always Forever and went for a swim in the ocean as the sun was rising. It was such a beautiful way to wrap up the recording of Why Don’t You Dance which is why I’m thrilled to finally share the actual cover song we recorded that night."
